"So Your Son Wants To Play In The NHL"
|
|
Dan's first book,
written with his father, Jay, tells the inspirational story of this NHL veteran's journey
from his family's back yard ice rink to the ice palaces of the NHL. This is a must
read for new or serious hockey families. One parent wrote "This is THE book for hockey parents. We have several hundred books in our
hockey library. Without a doubt, "So Your Son Wants To Play In The NHL"
is the single best publication I've read as a hockey parent and amateur adult player".

Dan and Jay's
second book is written just for youth hockey players. The book answers
36 questions that young players ask and does so with
honesty and the wisdom that got Dan to the NHL. Questions like "What's
the most important thing you can do to make it to the NHL?", "What
if my parents won't let me play AAA hockey?" and "What if
everybody says I'll never make it to the NHL?" It's chocked full of
practical suggestions and helpful insights for all players from beginning house leaguers
to Major travel players. Check it out

Dan
and Jay's third book is a historical novel, the first in a
planned series of four that use sports as a way to teach
young people about history. This book, a tale about a young boy's introduction to
his first
organized baseball team, is set during the Great Depression.
It's "... a wonderful story - rich in historical
detail, full of excitement, warmth, and humor - a story that
readers of all ages will not want to end." But
does end; it ends with "the strangest play in baseball
history." Check it out

Dan
and Jay's fourth book is another historical novel, the second in a
planned series of four that use sports as a way to teach
young people about history. The
kids you read about in Pitcher's Hands is OUT!! are now
seniors in high school and oh, how things have changed in Grand
Harbor, Michigan. "The Bylsma writing team takes a page
from the history of basketball and sets it against the backdrop
of WWII to create a dramatic, thoughtful, and often very funny
novel." Check it out
